Vans US Open contest shortboard surfing 2022
The Vans US Open shortboard surfing contest is in the history books, with Zeke Lau and BettyLou Sakura winning their respective WSL Challenger Series classes. It was a surfers dream contest much of the time, at least by California surf contest standards, due to a big hurricane swell. The longboard surfing portion of this event was the Van Duct Tape Invitational: https://www.wavestv.com/2022/vans-duct-tape-invitational-longboard-surf-contest-2022/ which in the women’s division saw at least two longboards broken over pier pilings.
